About our Courses:

HTML
Students will learn the foundation scripting language of the WEB — from basic head and body tags to tables, layers, logic and structural attributes and more. Frames, FTP Links, Forms. Students will be expected to create a demonstration web page applying all the elements they learn in the course. Prerequisites: basic familiarity with a computer; experience browsing or "surfing the web".

Macromedia DreamWeaver MX 2004
Students will learn the fundamentals of the powerful WYSIWYG HTML editing application preferred by professional web designers. Students will become familiar with the DreamWeaver environment. The course will cover text formatting, importing graphics, adding links, building tables, using frames and uploading to a remote site. Other topics will layers, templates, cascading style sheets and site management. Students will be expected to build and launch at least one small web site demonstrating work learned in the course. Prerequisite: HTML and experience in file management using MS Word or other word processing system.

Principles of Web Design
Students will learn principles of information organization and navigation structure as well as creating clear well -arranged web content. Course focus on developing sites in several genres including directories, e-commerce. Course will also feature web planning for different target audiences including children, communities of interest, news gathering, etc. Students will be expected to develop web pages demonstrating familiarity with each genre. Prerequisites: Familiarity with HTML and file management.

Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004
This course encompasses the techniques used to generate graphical web content using Macromedia's powerful creative tool. Fireworks is the easiest way to create, optimize, and export interactive graphics in a single, web-centric environment. Students will learn to quickly create original web graphics and interactivity, from simple graphical buttons to complex rollover effects.

Intro to Web Programming
Course will focus on learning about the programming languages used in creating applications for the World Wide Web. HTML and JavaScript are the major topics introduced. Additional programming language introduced include: PERL, CGI, XML, etc. Exercises and projects will be provided for each topic. Upon successful completion, students will be able to build web sites with dynamic content using client-side cutting-edge technologies. Prerequisites: Basic HTML. Structural programming experience helpful but not required.

The Practicum
Students will put it all together by working with a real client and building a site that meets client needs while applying the design and technical concepts learned in the program. The resulting work will be constitute a portfolio of your work.
